Job Summary

The Potting and Impregnation Operative will support the Potting and Impregnation Team Lead in the process of potting, encapsulation assembly, and impregnation. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the successful execution of defined processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute defined processes for potting, encapsulation assembly, and impregnation in accordance with associated risk assessments and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain ovens, vacuum chambers, and associated tooling to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Design and create mould tools and ad hoc jigs in association with processing product to meet quality and production requirements.
  • Assemble product into jigs and fixtures conforming to drawings, build standards, and specifications.
  • Store, control, and use chemicals associated with the potting, encapsulation assembly, and impregnation process safely and efficiently.
  • Work to specifications, build standards, and data sheets to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Operate weighing scales and measuring equipment, both analogue and digital, to ensure precise measurements.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Work in a 6S mindset to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area.
  • Support the creation of risk assessments and ensure that support operators are trained to specified work instructions and relevant risk assessments.
  • Ensure that the health and safety reporting system is followed and that near misses and accidents are recorded and analyzed for root cause and corrective actions.
  • Empower others to highlight any safety concerns or non-compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Personal safety and control in relation to ovens, pumps, and vacuum chambers.
  • Lockout and control of equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Competent use, setup, and daily maintenance of weighing scales, ovens, pumps, and vacuum chambers used in the process.
  • Safe usage and control of chemicals to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Magnetic product manufacture background and understanding of metric and imperial measurements.
  • Understanding and competent use of ovens, pumps, and vacuum chambers.
  • Understanding and competent use of various test equipment in relation to the potting, encapsulation, and impregnation process.
  • Basic use of ERP system to manage production and inventory.
