About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Homelessness Prevention Coordinator to join our team at Hestia. As a key member of our Homelessness Prevention Service, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals who are homeless or at risk of being made homeless.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of service users, providing guidance and support to help them achieve housing stability and independence.
  • Work closely with local lettings agents, private landlords, and other agencies to find suitable housing solutions for clients.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory, voluntary, and commercial organisations to address the support needs of clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and ongoing reviews of client needs, creating focused and co-produced Personal Housing Plans to improve their housing options.
  • Advise clients on their housing options, including private rented, house shares, supported accommodation, or access to social housing.
  • Deliver against individual financial outcome targets and service standards, working towards client progression and meeting service targets and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of working with housing and homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act and homelessness eviction and tenants' rights.
  • Experience of working with welfare benefits legislation and the causes of homelessness.
  • Ability to work in a target-led environment, managing a busy client caseload and own workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members, clients, and external agencies.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
