Senior Social Worker Opportunity

Pertemps Professional Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Social Worker to join Barking & Dagenham's Assessment service on a full-time permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To hold complex family proceedings and children deemed to be at high risk of significant harm, demonstrating the ability to record to a high standard and capture the voice of the child.
  • To act as lead practice educator for the social work unit, providing support and advice, and offering shadowing opportunities to Student Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers.
  • To work collaboratively with other Council Divisions, Statutory Agencies, and independent and voluntary service providers to promote timely permanency planning for children in care.
  • To undertake key work responsibilities for children subject to a child protection plan, ensuring that the health and education needs of all children in care are met in accordance with National Standards.
Requirements:
  • Social Work Qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualifying experience within statutory children's social work teams
  • Knowledge of procedures that underpin child protection
  • Registration with Social Work England
