About the Role

As a Powertrain Graduate at Aston Martin, you'll embark on a dynamic journey across the ICE Powertrain teams, gaining hands-on experience in various areas. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Write systems specifications and ensure alignment to targets cascaded from the vehicle teams.
  • Create 3D/2D CAD designs using Siemens PLM Teamcenter & NX Software.
  • Ensure CAD designs achieve failure mode avoidance through the use of DFMEA, design for manufacture, service, and logistical requirements.
  • Develop, check, and approve engineering drawings ensuring correct application of GD&T, quality, and AML drafting standards.
  • Support virtual verification activities including package, CAE analysis, and virtual builds.
  • Owning related concerns and containment activities, using formal problem-solving tools to ensure concerns are robustly closed to prevent recurrence.
  • Support testing of systems and components (virtual/physical).
  • Gather and align input data for simulations.
  • Maintain close connection to the simulation team to support FEM, 1D, and 3D simulation activities.
  • Post-process test and simulation results and visualize them in PowerPoint together with design and package data.
  • Support project engineering including regular project review meetings and participation in supplier meetings. Update development documentation.

Requirements

  • Be a team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Be proficient in MS-Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Be familiar with CAD and PLM tools.
  • Have strong teamwork and collaboration skills, be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be a fluent presenter of technical information.
  • Have good organisational skills.
