Quality and Safety Lead Midwife Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality and Safety Lead Midwife to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Patient Safety Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety across our maternity services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in midwifery and a proven track record of leadership and governance experience. You will be responsible for monitoring and improving clinical governance, clinical effectiveness, and patient safety across our maternity services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to achieve this goal.

About the Role
  • Lead on monitoring standards of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness, and patient safety across maternity services.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to improve patient care and safety.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Provide governance advice and support to clinicians and other senior managers.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Midwifery and Clinical Lead Consultant Obstetrician to establish effective maternity governance systems.
Person Specification
  • NMC registered midwife (current)
  • Masters level education or equivalent experience.
  • Post registration qualification with relevant Master's degree or equivalent and/or working towards that includes leadership in the areas of Quality Assurance, Governance, Audit and Quality Improvement.
  • Trained in Root Cause with ability to analyse aggregated management systems.
  • PSIRF training undertaken or willingness to undertake.
  • Recognised qualification in the field of quality assurance, compliance, and governance.
  • Recognised Leadership/management qualification.
