Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Career Development Specialist to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Education and People Development Service, you will play a vital role in shaping the careers of our staff and creating an outstanding experience for them.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in education and people development, with experience of working in a senior leadership role within the NHS or a complex organisation. They will be responsible for leading on the design, implementation, and evaluation of development opportunities, as well as analysing data and feedback to identify necessary actions and interventions.

The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a generous pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with senior leaders to scope and design development opportunities that benefit the service, colleagues, and the trust.
  • Building on successful apprenticeship offerings to support the development of the current and future workforce.
  • Leading on the implementation of a GHNHSFT apprenticeship and careers strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or equivalent significant relevant experience, with evidence of continuing professional development in relevant topics. They will also possess coaching/mentoring qualifications and a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on goals.
