About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the smooth running of our College and wider site. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Team in the maintenance and repair of all buildings, fixtures, and fittings. This will include maintenance of electrical, heating, plumbing, and alarm systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Maintenance Team in the maintenance and repair of all buildings, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Assist with the general running of the site, including moving furniture and equipment, cleaning drains and guttering, and ensuring site safety for all users.
  • Support in the opening and locking up of buildings as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
  • Share the responsibility for all maintenance checks to ensure site compliance.
  • Advise the Maintenance Lead on any ordering requirements and support in managing the stock and equipment needed to maintain the H&S of the site.
  • Be prepared to learn and improve skills relevant to the post, through in-house training and/or external courses.
  • Complete all required online training within the set timescales of probation and review periods.
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures on site.
  • Be prepared to work out of hours and at weekends if necessary.
  • Be prepared to work at other local sites.
  • Agree to work to all existing and future Livability/School policies.
  • Maintain the Christian aims of Livability.
Person Specification:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Proven literacy and IT skills for maintaining accurate records and completing online training.
  • Valid and full, clean driving licence.
  • General awareness and ability to understand and apply regulations (such as health & safety, manual handling regulations etc.).
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of general maintenance processes.
  • Hands-on experience in maintenance of buildings.
  • Working knowledge of safety issues/procedures.
  • Good DIY skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

We would also welcome applications from individuals with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Pat testing qualification.
  • Basic carpentry skills.
  • Basic plumbing skills.
  • Working at height cert.
