About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Childcare Specialist to work in our residential care team in Castleford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people who live away from their familial homes.

Job Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

  • Safeguarding and risk management: Developing individual risk management plans and applying safeguarding principles to promote positive social interactions, healthy relationships, and trust-building.
  • Daily support and transportation: Assisting young people with their daily routines, including transporting them to and from appointments, school, social events, family contacts, and other activities.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean home environment: Ensuring a safe and clean home environment, including managing domestic tasks like cleaning, cooking, and general housekeeping.
  • Key worker duties: Acting as the key worker for one or more young people, taking responsibility for assessing needs, developing care plans, and reviewing progress.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Level 4 Diploma in Children's and Young People's Workforce (or working towards).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a childcare or youth setting at the RCP level.
  • A full, clean UK driving license is essential, as the role requires transporting young people to appointments, education, social events, and family contacts.
  • An enhanced DBS check.
