About the Role

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Independent Visitor scheme as Childcare Liaison Specialists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for befriending and visiting young people living in care, aged up to 21 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Befriend and visit a young person once a month to provide consistency and create a positive friendship
  • Participate in activities the young person wants to try, promoting their social, emotional, and educational development

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive out-of-pocket expenses coverage and optional social gatherings with other volunteers and young people.

Requirements:

  • A genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people and a willingness to commit to a minimum of two years
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies

Training and Support:

All volunteers attend a comprehensive two-day training course covering their role, responsibilities, and safeguarding procedures. Ongoing support from coordinators is also available to ensure your success in this rewarding position.
