About the Role

As a Shift Leader at Tesco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily activities of the store team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers, supporting colleagues in their daily priorities, and taking regular breaks. Additionally, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, completing duty cover, and making sure the store is always clean, tidy, and well-presented.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the store team to deliver excellent customer service
  • SUPPORTING COLLEAGUES IN THEIR DAILY PRIORITIES AND TAKING REGULAR BREAKS
  • Opening and closing the store, and completing duty cover
  • Making sure the store is always clean, tidy, and well-presented

You will also need to be able to build strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive team atmosphere. Additionally, you will need to be flexible in your approach, comfortable handling change, and able to make decisions quickly and effectively.

As a Shift Leader at Tesco, you can expect to receive a competitive salary of £14.28 per hour (increasing to £15.41 within the M25), plus benefits such as 20 days' holiday rising to 22 after 12 months, flexible working from day one, and access to free wellbeing services.
