Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a forward-thinking school for pupils aged 7-16 with autism. As an Education Specialist, you will play a key role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with children or young people with autism and a strong passion for Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best care and education for each pupil.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with autism.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure pupils receive the best care and education.
  • Promote positive behavior and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and carers.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance SEN expertise.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with:
  • Proven experience working with children or young people with autism.
  • A strong passion for SEN and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Teaching qualifications are desirable, but we welcome applications from unqualified teachers with a solid background in SEN.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.

Salary and Benefits
