Nursing Unit Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Unit Manager to oversee the delivery of quality patient care on our nursing unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of patients, ensuring timely admissions and discharges, and collaborating with the nursing supervisor to optimize patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and quality patient care is delivered to all patients on the unit.
- Evaluate and direct patient flow activities on the unit, collaborating with the nursing supervisor to expedite patient flow and ensure timely admissions and discharges.
- Problem solve and remove barriers to patient care, collaborating with the nurse director/supervisor to address patient needs and ensure timely care.
- Oversee the delivery of care on the shift, directing and delegating patient care assignments to nursing staff based on clinical needs and matching staffing patterns to volume and acuity.
- Evaluate individual nursing performance and assist the nurse director in preparing staff performance appraisals.
- Investigate and assess customer complaints, problems, and incidents, taking corrective action to resolve issues and reporting incidents to the on-shift supervisor and nurse director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a minimum of 2 years job-related experience or equivalent.
- RI State Nursing Licensure required.
- Experience must include graduation from an accredited nursing program.
