Sister/Charge Nurse - Integrated Surgical and Gynaecology Unit

As a key member of our Surgical Division, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your clinical expertise and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to the ward/department team, acting as a role model in the delivery of patient care. You will be expected to lead, support, supervise and teach staff, and to work in partnership with an established Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).

Main Duties of the Job
  • Provide clinical expertise to the ward/department team
  • Lead, support, supervise and teach staff
  • Work in partnership with an established MDT
  • Develop and implement clinical governance initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of ward/department policies and procedures

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with current registration
  • ENB 998/997/mentorship module or equivalent
  • Intermediate Life Support Course
  • Diploma/Degree or working towards
  • Advanced Life Support
  • First Line Management Course
Experience
  • Experience at Band 5
  • Proven experience of practice development
  • Proven experience of ward management/ staff supervision
  • Proven experience of change management
  • Experience of budget management
  • Proven experience of implementing clinical governance
