Job Summary

This is a full-time post based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, with opportunities for professional development and growth within the trust. You will work under the direction of qualified physiotherapists to assist in the rehabilitation of patients with medical, surgical, and orthopaedic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physiotherapists and senior assistants to assess patients' range of movement, muscle power, sensation, sitting and standing balance, and transfer abilities.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and progress the treatment plan following consultation with a physiotherapist or senior assistant.
  • Deliver specified treatments with empathy under the management of a physiotherapist.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous treatment records, including valid consent appropriate to the intervention.

Person Specification

  • Essential: Work experience or observation in a health or social care setting; GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A*, A, B, C), or equivalent level 2 qualification(s) and Functional Skills (level 2), or a level 2 apprenticeship.
  • Desirable: Recent work experience in a therapy setting; previous relevant in-service training.
