We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shift Laboratory Analyst to join our team at a leading provider of specialty metals, alloys, and materials.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting analyses and reporting results on metal and refractory materials using various analytical testing methods.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the company's quality procedures and accreditations.
  • Work as part of a rota system (12-hour shift rota, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off pattern) and provide cover for absence and holidays as and when required.
  • Prepare samples for analysis.
  • Undertake testing required by both internal and external customers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure housekeeping is to the required standards at all times.
  • Work in a manner that produces minimal waste.
  • Be an enthusiastic and co-operative member of the team.
Requirements
  • Experience with ICP-OES, XRD, XRF, Density, Gravimetric, Titration, BET surface area, and Malvern would be highly advantageous.
  • HNC or Equivalent in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering.
  • An understanding of the range of materials typically supplied into the laboratory.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.
  • Good team worker.
  • IT Skills Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
