Job Description

As Shift Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing your area within manufacturing operations. Your duties will include ensuring the area runs safely, efficiently, and effectively, driving a continuous improvement culture that ensures quality products delivered to customers on time and in full.

Responsibilities

  • Management responsibility for leadership of the Production Team.
  • Deputise for the Operations Shift Manager and take active leadership in CI initiatives on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all individuals, including engineering / contractors conform to health, safety and environmental legislation, policies and standards.
  • Responsible for driving the team members to ensure that the Area performance is in-line with or ideally better than KPI targets.
  • Responsible for maintaining company and statutory hygiene standards and good housekeeping.
  • Identify issues through data and proactively assess solutions through root cause analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience for training and coaching others.
  • Ability to anticipate problems before they occur and taking action deal with them correctly and swiftly.
  • Working knowledge & utilisation of Continuous Improvement techniques
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to monitor work carried out by others to ensure tasks are delivered to time, quality and other requirements.
  • Able to make timely decisions in a considered and pragmatic way.
  • Ability to recognise day-to-day issues, which are commercially important to the business.
  • Able to inspire the team to perform, dealing effectively with performance issues and creates a sense of trust in the team.
