Job Title: Corporate Credit Risk Analyst

About Saxton Leigh:

Saxton Leigh is a leading multinational corporate banking company seeking an experienced Corporate Credit Risk Analyst to join our team in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide high-quality credit risk assessments and recommendations for corporate clients, focusing on trade finance and country risks.
  • To offer comprehensive credit analysis of counterparties and issuers, ensuring accuracy and independence.
  • To provide technical support and guidance on all credit-related matters to business areas.
  • To advise on structuring transactions and developing credit proposals, identifying potential risks efficiently.
  • To stay up-to-date with market trends and international business developments, including key events in the UK and global credit markets.
  • To assist with arranging Credit Committee meetings and approvals, presenting credit proposals to Head Office.
  • To establish and maintain credit risk management controls, systems, and procedures meeting Branch requirements and external auditors' standards.
  • To monitor adherence to approved credit limits, informing the Deputy Head of Risk of material excesses promptly.
  • To generate credit-related MI for clients, industries, or countries.
  • To ensure proper monitoring and control of credit risks, reviewing credit limits according to internal policies.
  • To minimize time between problem recognition and cash recovery, conducting regular monitoring and review of 'problem loans.'
  • To collaborate with Head Office on credit risk issues and assist with reporting.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in analyzing credit risks, particularly for large corporate clients in UK/Western European markets.
  • A solid understanding of wholesale lending products and market/operational risks.
  • Excellent team skills, with the ability to work closely with business areas while maintaining independence.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
