Job Overview

United Living Group is a leading provider of sustainable infrastructure solutions, comprising four businesses that work together to create a connected and resilient future.

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Shetland, working on a range of exciting projects that will help shape the region's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in overseeing construction activities within an assigned area of responsibility, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and coordinate construction activities, ensuring seamless execution and quality control.
  • Monitor subcontractor personnel to ensure adherence to project plans and promote quality control of all installations.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and work rules, promoting a safe and healthy work environment on construction sites.
  • Work with document control systems, project management software, and other databases to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, including drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and other documents.
  • Interface with clients and designers to ensure compliance with design intent and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to building strong relationships between field management, project management, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and specialty contractors, ensuring construction meets plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Continuously expand and update professional knowledge and training skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
Requirements
  • Must have experience in gas or pipeline construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working on similar projects for National Grid, Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, or Scotia Gas Networks is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis.
