Role Overview

SPEAR is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Adult Outreach Worker to join our team in addressing homelessness within the Roma community. As an integral part of our outreach services, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing accommodation pathways for individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To deliver high-quality outreach services for rough sleepers, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • To provide tailored support and engagement with clients, fostering sustainable long-term change.
  • Conduct regular outreach shifts to identify and engage with rough sleepers, gathering crucial information to facilitate their transition to more stable living arrangements.
  • To ensure assessments and support services are culturally sensitive and relevant to the Roma community, promoting their access to available resources.
  • To establish strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams and agencies, advocating on behalf of Roma individuals regarding welfare rights, immigration issues, and other support needs as necessary.
  • To work closely with allocated clients to assess their needs, refer them to suitable support services, and secure appropriate accommodation.
  • To assist clients with financial matters, including benefit claims and debt issues, liaising with relevant agencies.
  • To be responsible for providing advice, support, crisis intervention, and future planning tailored to the specific needs of service users.
