HGV Technician Role Overview

As a skilled HGV Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, and modification work on the company's fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, with the ability to provide exceptional support from fault analysis through to complete vehicle overhauls.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-owned fleet maintenance company that has been established for over 50 years. With a fleet of over 200 trucks and 1,000 trailers, this company is one of the largest privately owned transport companies in the UK. As an HGV Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of their vehicles and contributing to their continued success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair commercial vehicles and trailers to the highest standards, adhering to strict health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct pre-MOT checks and undertake any necessary repairs.
  • Provide technical support from fault analysis to complete vehicle overhauls.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of commercial vehicles and trailers, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • An HGV licence (Class 1) is desirable but not essential.
  • Fully qualified HGV Technician with City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Able to undertake all aspects of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Previous experience working as an HGV Technician.

  • A competitive salary of £43,680 per annum.
  • A team MOT bonus of £60 per month (if no MOT failures).
