About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Planner to join our team at Ocado Retail Ltd. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for optimising stock levels for our departments on Ocado.com.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forecasting stock and business trading at macro and micro levels across defined product areas.
  • Long-term stock projections for new season launches, working in line with financial KPIs, OTB budgets, promotional plans, and planned visibility.
  • Daily validation and placement of system-generated weekly purchase orders, maintaining high standards of sales-weighted availability.
  • Working with the product buying team to maximise sales and achieve KPIs, including cash sales, basket, margin, sales-weighted availability, stock holding, and aged stock.
  • Preparing and presenting reporting on KPIs for weekly trade meetings, complete with proactive recommendations on actions to be taken.
  • Managing availability and stock levels throughout the season, identifying and handling gaps between forecasts and trading actuals.
  • Using reporting tools to analyse and understand performance and opportunities, anticipating future product performance.
  • Ensuring warehouse space is utilised in a profitable manner and adequate space is available for planned inbound volumes throughout the season.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience working as a Merchandise Planner.
  • Experience ideally within online sales in the Homeware, Beauty, Clothing, and/or Healthcare sectors.
