Research Opportunity in English and American Literature

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join our English Department at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The successful applicant will have a PhD and a post-doctoral research programme, with the opportunity to conduct research in English and/or American literature. The focus of the fellowship will be research, with the expectation that the postholder will contribute to teaching relevant undergraduate and MA modules (no more than 4-6 hours a week) and advance the interests of the English department with respect to the wider scholarly community and the general public.

The post is fixed-term for a period of 10 months, starting 1 October 2024. The post comes with a research allowance of £2,000, which must be spent before the end of July 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in English and/or American literature
  • Teach relevant undergraduate and MA modules (no more than 4-6 hours a week)
  • Advance the interests of the English department with respect to the wider scholarly community and the general public
