About the Role

Cafcass is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Family Court Adviser. As a Family Court Adviser, you will play a critical role in supporting the welfare and safety of children and families involved in the family court process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake direct work with children, gaining their views and wishes and representing these to the court via written reports and giving evidence.
  • Represent the interests of children in court, advocating for arrangements that are in their best interests.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, lawyers, and judges, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs and circumstances, identifying key issues and making recommendations for the court.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals, ensuring that children's voices are heard and their needs are met.
Requirements
  • Be a Social Work England registered social worker with a strong track record of experience working with children and families.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of resilience and adaptability.
  • Have a strong understanding of child development, child protection, and the family court process.
  • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple cases and priorities.
