Job Overview

Main Responsibilities
  • Dispensary Management: Assist the chief or senior technician in overseeing dispensing services to ensure seamless operation.
  • Stock Management: Maintain pharmacy stocks by ordering and requisitioning supplies from the Pharmacy Store as required.
  • Patient Counselling: Provide guidance to patients and carers on medication usage, ensuring they understand their prescriptions.
  • Support for Prescribing: Promote adherence to the Trust formulary and local prescribing guidelines to enhance medication effectiveness.
  • Training and Mentorship: Support and supervise trainee pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacists, and other pharmacy staff to foster a skilled team.

Person Specification
  • Essential Criteria: BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Desirable Criteria: Accreditation in Checking of Dispensing
