Job Summary

Fike Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team as a Field Service Engineer (Electrical Controls & Instrumentation) - Explosion Protection. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site-Based Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on installed systems to prevent downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and offering timely solutions.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and acting as a reliable service engineer.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of service visits, technical issues, resolutions, and customer interactions.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Travel to customer sites as required, often on short notice, to perform maintenance and repairs. Flexibility in travel schedule is essential.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: HNC (or equivalent experience) qualification in a suitable engineering discipline, ideally with a focus on Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
  • Skills: Proficient in using Windows, Gmail, Word, Excel. Multi-skilled background – electrical, mechanical, controls & instrumentation. Valid driving license – preferably clean.
  • Experience: Proven track record of field maintenance experience – preferably in the industrial sector. CompEx trained. Knowledge / experience of ATEX environments.
