About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to join our client's dynamic team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile transportation and urban design projects.



Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a company pension, generous annual leave, and a discretionary annual bonus based on performance.



Job Description:


The successful candidate will have extensive experience in highways and public realm design, with a strong technical background in creating detailed designs using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD). You will lead and manage project teams, ensuring integration across disciplines and alignment with the consultancy's strategic vision.




  • Project Leadership: Develop and implement sustainable, technically sound, and user-friendly designs for complex urban transport and public realm challenges.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships, understanding their goals, and delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions.
  • Design Excellence: Ensure rigorous quality control on all project deliverables, maintaining high standards in design documentation, technical drawings, and reports.
  • Team Management & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a small team of professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and providing guidance to support their professional growth.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.
