Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planning Leader to join our Development Team in Newcastle, UK. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading transport planning projects and providing expertise to clients across various sectors.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading day-to-day project delivery, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results;
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders;
  • Providing proactive management and leadership to secure collaborative working relationships;
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key clients based on achievement of excellence in service provision;
  • Staying up-to-date with relevant standards and policies, raising the company profile through networking and attending conferences;
  • Supporting team members in their development, guiding them as needed;
  • Being involved in high-profile client engagement, stakeholder management, design team liaison, and project management;
  • Ensuring project delivery meets budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements.

Key qualifications and skills required for this role include:

  • A numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related subject;
  • An MSc in Transport Planning/Engineering is desirable;
  • Experience as a lead client contact for consultancy services, fostering excellent relationships with clients and co-professionals;
  • Excellent communication skills, with a clear track record of presenting compelling written work in support of development proposals;
