Senior Credit Risk Operations Manager

A leading financial services company based in the Thames Valley is seeking a dynamic Senior Credit Risk Operations Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the credit underwriting and risk team, a business-critical function that plays a vital role in the company's growth and success.
The Senior Credit Risk Operations Manager will be responsible for analysing data on low, medium, and high-risk customers, reviewing the accuracy of automated scorecards, and preparing monthly reports for departmental meetings. They will also participate in credit review meetings with senior leadership, displaying a deep understanding of customers who have gone into administrations, high exposure risks, industry updates, and credit assessment SLAs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the credit underwriting and risk team, ensuring regular meetings are held with all credit and senior credit underwriters to fully understand the reasons behind exposure levels.
- Producing reports and approval requests for the board, including analysis of information and commentary behind the data.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve credit risk management processes and procedures.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the business, including sales, financial reporting, and operational teams.
Requirements for the role include:
- Proven credit risk management experience in a large business environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with different personalities.
- Ability to identify areas for positive change and implement these, motivating others and instilling values that align to the highest levels of customer service.
- Good emotional intelligence, with the ability to relate to and manage emotions of team members.
