We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SENCo, you will play a vital role in leading and shaping the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring every child reaches their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the strategic development of the school's SEND policy and provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
* Oversee the day-to-day operation of SEND services, managing the identification and assessment of pupils with SEND, coordinating EHCPs and specialist support.
* Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide effective and individualised support plans for students.
* Deliver high-quality training to staff on SEND best practices, promoting a culture of inclusion and creating opportunities for all students to succeed academically and socially.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) is highly desirable. Candidates who are working towards the qualification will also be considered.
* Proven UK experience working with students with a range of SEND needs is essential, ideally in a secondary school setting.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and external professionals.
* In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
* A commitment to the school's vision of creating an inclusive learning environment for all students.
