Job Description:

RGH-Global Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Highway Engineer to join our team in Chelmsford, Essex.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Highway legislation and experience in a wide range of relevant engineering techniques and procedures.

This role involves managing the implementation of highway works associated with approved planning consents, ensuring they meet the standards required by the Highway Authority for adoption as public highway.

The estimated salary for this position is £45,445 per annum, with a range of £42,679 - £50,211 per annum.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, plans, procedures, and practices to deliver economic and wider community goals.
  • Manage the delivery of the programme of works within budget, programme, and specified quality.
  • Ensure budgetary control of specific programmes of work to guarantee value for money.
  • Support the Highway Authority with consultations with the Local Planning Authority for proposed developments.
  • Coordinate detailed designs and ensure planning permission conditions/obligations are met.
  • Attend/Chair Meetings and answer site queries/design queries in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with stakeholders (internal and external) and ensure statutory processes are followed as required.
  • Secure legal agreements to allow developers' infrastructure works to be adopted as public highway.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to County Councillors, District Members, Parish Councils, and the general public on all highway-related matters.
  • Lead and provide technical direction for team members dealing with all aspects of the highway service.
