Job Title: Senior Actuarial Consultant

The Emerald Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Consultant to join our team in London. As a key member of our Specialty division, you will be responsible for delivering deal level case pricing for material and complex deals, providing SME class and market knowledge to supplement and challenge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver deal level case pricing for the Specialty division, focusing on material and complex deals.
  • Provide SME class and market knowledge to supplement and challenge.
  • Build best-in-class pricing models that sit outside of the algorithm, including technical build, development, and maintenance.
  • Carry out model validation and recalibration exercises, assessing and communicating the impact of model changes.
  • Work closely with the Underwriters to enhance commercial and strategic approach using creative actuarial insight and innovative solutions.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Actuary (FIA, FFA or equivalent).
  • Relevant, numerate degree with a good overall grade.
  • Experience of managing a small team of actuaries/analysts/students and prioritising others' workloads.
  • Project management with moderate guidance and direction ensuring delivery of work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly advanced/intermediate level of MS Excel, SQL and Python.
