Job Summary

As the Director of Technical Operations, you will be responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the infrastructure supporting the business. This includes dev-ops, IT, networking, and tier 1 support for B2C and B2B. You will be a change agent in our transformation to building, inspiring, and guiding to deliver best-in-class infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  1. As a leader, you will play a key role within the Engineering organization as a thought leader and champion of best practices across the infrastructure.
  2. Manage and promote strong working relationships across cross-functional teams.
  3. Develop, implement, enforce, and improve upon tools and methods to assure new and existing products/services are supported, with a focus on continuous improvement and feedback to the business.
  4. Regular reporting across the business on the 'Health of Tech Ops.'
  5. Supervise the technical operations team to promote initiative, collaboration, and a proactive mentality in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Develop/mentor technical operations staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees.
  7. Engage in team sprints to ensure that product development can deliver.
  8. Collaborate with Engineering Managers/Directors and the Development team to ensure delivery of high-quality features.
  9. Evaluate and cross-train to ensure the team is able to deliver the support the business needs.
  10. Work with cross-department leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality infrastructure and services on schedule.
  11. Proactively identify areas for optimization.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams and time zones.
  3. 7-10 years of experience managing a Technical Operations team and experience building, growing, mentoring a technical operations team.
  4. A proven track record of using Jira and working in a Sprint-based environment.
  5. Ability to manage multiple high-priority efforts in parallel while ensuring the highest quality.
  6. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  7. Experience with GCP and deployment automation tools.
