Job Title: Support Worker for Independent Living

We are seeking a dedicated and patient Support Worker to join our team and support a young adult with a mild learning disability and spinal injury. The ideal candidate will be able to drive and have use of a car, have a good understanding of the needs of a client with cognitive and physical difficulties, and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the client with daily activities, such as swimming, attending the gym, cycling, and craft work. They will also be required to help with household tasks, such as laundry and keeping the client's area tidy. The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis, but the client's wish is to be as independent as possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the client with daily activities, such as swimming, attending the gym, cycling, and craft work
  • Help with household tasks, such as laundry and keeping the client's area tidy
  • Support the client to become more independent
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Requirements:
  • Ability to drive and have use of a car
  • Good understanding of the needs of a client with cognitive and physical difficulties
  • Enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team
