About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Support Worker to join our specialist team in Worcestershire. As a Support Worker, you will play a critical role in providing high-level support to children and young people in crisis, creating safe environments, and offering a deep understanding of how trauma and a young person's journey through life can impact their behaviors and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support to children and young people, including activities, appointments, and family contact
  • Engage and encourage children and young people to participate in activities and form structure
  • Accurately report and provide information to support the development of care plans and goals
  • Play a critical role in the safety and well-being of children and young people
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting
  • Confidence to work with colleagues at times of heightened behaviors to de-escalate situations
  • Experience using de-escalation techniques to keep children and young people safe
  • Experience making decisions and taking action in challenging situations
  • Understanding of detailed and accurate daily record keeping and incident reporting
  • Ability to be creative when engaging and establishing trust with children and young people
  • Demonstrate sound communication and judgment
  • Clarity over protecting personal and professional boundaries at all times
