Nursery Chef

We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Assistant Nursery Chef/Cook to join our team at Wilmere Lane Nursery School. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared meals for our children and ensuring the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Provide balanced and nutritional meals for all children attending the nursery and catering for children with specific dietary needs
- Instill Storal Values to Food and Hygiene and compliance with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety and within the guidelines of Ofsted
- Ensure all children are kept safe and have rich stimulating experiences
- Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation
- To be aware of COSHH and follow relevant guidelines
- To deputise for the Cook in all absences with the expectation of deputising full time when this is required
We are looking for someone with a Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification and a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role. You should have a good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH. You will be expected to reflect the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working together.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary of £10.42 up to £10.62 per hour based on experience and qualifications. We will also cover the cost of transport to the nursery setting and provide annual wellness day off, company sick pay, 50% childcare discount, access to retail and other discounts through Perkbox, holidays increasing to 22 days after 2 years service and 25 days after 5 years service, performance related bonuses, dedicated learning and development support, and access to one-to-one confidential counselling sessions through our Employee Assistance Programme.
