We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Care and Support Specialist at Dwelling Places Agency in Southeast London. Job Description

This role involves promoting independence, encouraging service users to participate in daily activities, and ensuring they receive the necessary support to live fulfilling lives. You will work closely with our team to provide personalized care and support services that cater to the unique needs of each child or young person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emotional and Social Support: Build meaningful relationships with children and encourage their interaction with peers and adults within the community.
  • Self-Esteem and Respect: Help young people develop a positive self-image and ensure they feel respected and valued.
  • Promoting Positive Life Choices and Independence: Support children in making informed decisions and achieving levels of independence suitable for their age and abilities.
  • Accurate Recording: Maintain detailed records of events, observations, progress, child protection matters, and health and safety checks.
  • Care Planning and Assessment: Collaborate with the manager and other professionals to create, implement, and review individual care plans based on the children's needs.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist children with their daily living needs in accordance with their care plans.
  • Domestic Duties: Conduct household tasks and involve children when appropriate, including planning, shopping, and preparing meals to ensure a balanced diet.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and/or young people in a residential childcare setting. You must also possess relevant qualifications, such as NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care or Level 2 Diploma in Residential Childcare, and be willing to work towards further qualifications if necessary.

Other essential requirements include being computer literate, having good knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and Ofsted regulations.
