The successful applicant will work at the Birmingham Women's Hospital site, a prestigious medical institution offering high-quality care. The role involves working in rotation with other staff members across various sections of the department.
We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Haematology department. As a key member of the team, you will participate in a 24/7 shift rota over a 7-day working week, ensuring continuous support for patients.
Key responsibilities include working with Sysmex XN2000 full blood count analysers, Sebia Capilliarys2 Flex for Haemoglobinopathy screening, and Werfen TOP 350 for coagulation studies. Additionally, you will utilise Immucor Neo and Echo analysers for routine grouping, antibody screening, and investigation, as well as antenatal serology.
The ideal candidate will possess a BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, along with registration with the HCPC. Post-registration experience in a UK Haematology/Blood transfusion department is required, with greater than 2 years of post-registration experience being desirable.
