About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose-built 75-bed hospital in Wellington, Somerset, for men and women with mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff, including support staff and assistants, to ensure the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services.
  • Develop and implement appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways to support the needs of patients with complex mental health issues.
  • Support the completion of appraisals and personal development plans with junior staff to ensure their continued growth and development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication with patients, carers, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of occupational therapy student placements to support the next generation of therapists.
Requirements
  • Occupational Therapy profession qualification and UK HCPC Registration.
  • Extensive and relevant post-qualification clinical experience working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models, including occupational frames of reference and approaches.
  • Demonstrated evidence of highly effective clinical reasoning skills and ability to work with neurodiverse individuals.
