Building Control Specialist

Adecco Property Services is partnering with a local authority to recruit Building Control professionals to join the Planning & Regeneration team.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and enforce building regulations and associated legislation in an effective and efficient manner.
- Manage and maintain registration as a Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator.
- Contribute to the overall performance of the Section by assisting in the preparation, implementation, and review of the Section Delivery Plan.
- Determine submitted applications for compliance with building regulations and associated legislation.
- Undertake site inspections to ensure constructed works follow statutory legislation and guidance.
- Prepare statements of evidence on building regulation matters and give evidence on behalf of the Council at examinations in public, court, public inquiries, and informal hearings.
- Experience and strong knowledge of building control aspects and understand its operational function.
- Education to a degree level or any other related qualifications to the building control/built environment or willingness to progress with a BSc/membership of RICS, CIOB, or CABE.
- Registration as a Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator to a competency level no lower than Class 2b.
- Ability to undertake site inspections in an effective and efficient manner.
- Great communication skills and stakeholder management.
- IT literacy and ability to use Microsoft packages and other relevant tools.
