Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered General Nurse to join our Same Day Emergency Care team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality patient care as per the doctor's plan
  2. Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team
  3. Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour and relevant professional guidelines
  4. Stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care
  5. Take on delegated tasks and responsibilities, including representing the team at meetings and supervising unregistered nurses and students
  6. Contribute to service and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and outcomes
About the Team

Our Same Day Emergency Care team provides medical assessment and review for patients who need medical review but not necessarily admission. We aim to avoid unnecessary admissions and provide follow-up services for patients who have been discharged on early support provision.

Requirements
  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
  • Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
  • Previous experience working in an acute secondary NHS care setting
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work a varied shift pattern, including nights and weekends
