Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality patient care in a general practice setting, utilizing advanced autonomous clinical skills and a broad theoretical knowledge base.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver a high standard of patient care, making use of skills in history taking, physical examination, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making.
  2. Provide a first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems.
  3. Instigate necessary diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings/reports.
  4. Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately, including initiation of effective emergency care.
  5. Promote health and well-being through health promotion, health education, screening, and therapeutic communication skills.

Professional Role:

The Nurse Practitioner will promote personal development and clinical excellence, working collaboratively with the nursing team and other healthcare professionals to develop new roles and respond to changing healthcare needs.

Team Role:

The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

Organisational:

The Nurse Practitioner will complete records, audits, reports, and respond to appropriate questions and requests, attending meetings as requested and supporting effective communication channels between the team.
