HARDWARE TEST SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER – CONTRACT 9 MONTHS

We are seeking a seasoned Test Equipment Engineer to join our well-established test engineering community in Edinburgh and Newcastle facilities. As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you will own the creation and delivery of technical solutions within defined work packages, ensuring stakeholder requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning the creation and delivery of technical solutions within defined work packages
  • Establishing and maturing stakeholder needs, associating/attributing priority, interest, influence, and trading-off needs to determine optimum capability to solve stakeholders' problems
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment with other programme elements
  • Ensuring the application of appropriate tools/techniques for test equipment design by the team, providing advice in your area of expertise
  • Fostering relationships and networks within and outside the line of business, actively seeking out opportunities and promoting best practice adoption

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical solution development within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to capture and analyze stakeholder needs to guide solution development capable of meeting future operational environment needs
  • Industry experience in full design lifecycle
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to influence and adapt according to changing demands
  • Able to maintain engineering best practice, looking externally to sources such as academia or other industries
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop others

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, with an aptitude for problem-solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion. With a strong industry background in the full design lifecycle, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority. Estimated salary for this role is around £50,000-£70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
