Social Services Coordinator

About the Role:
The Community Support Worker will assist an adult male with developmental disabilities with their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional, and daily living skills development. This role requires a high level of independence and quality of life for the individual, while also addressing behavioral issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the individual with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to promote independence and quality of life.
- Provide support and guidance to the individual in areas such as vocational training, recreational activities, and social skills development.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including healthcare providers and social workers, to ensure comprehensive support for the individual.
- Document daily activities and progress, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or related discipline.
- 1-2 years experience in social services, preferably working with vulnerable populations or behavioral challenges.
- Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver's license.
- Knowledge of complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD, or other neurobiological conditions.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
