About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team at Great Fosters Hotel. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our estate grill, lounge, and function rooms.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a quality food service hotel or restaurant environment and possess excellent communication skills. You will be available to work a range of flexible shifts across 5 days per week, including weekends, and must be willing to start early morning shifts at 6:30 am or work late evening shifts until midnight.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparing the Estate Grill, Lounge, or Function Room for Service: Ensure that all areas are clean, tidy, and fully prepared for guests.
  • Meeting and Greeting Guests: Provide a warm welcome to all guests, taking the time to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Taking Guest Orders: Accurately take orders from guests, using your knowledge of menu items to make recommendations when necessary.
  • Serving Food and Beverage: Deliver exceptional service, serving high-quality food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Completing Satisfaction Checks: Regularly check with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their dining experience.
  • Resolving Service Issues: Anticipate and resolve any issues that may arise during service, always maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Presenting Bills to Guests and Taking Payment: Efficiently handle payment transactions, ensuring that all billing and payment processes are accurate and secure.
  • Resetting the Restaurant, Lounge, or Function Room at the End of the Shift: Restore all areas to their original condition, ready for the next service.

Requirements

  • Availability: You must be available to work a range of flexible shifts across 5 days per week, including weekends.
  • Appearance and Communication Skills: Maintain a smart appearance and possess excellent communication skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a quality food service hotel or restaurant environment is essential.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
