About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Awareness Raising Volunteer. As a representative of Alzheimer's Society, you will play a vital role in raising awareness of dementia and promoting our support services within your local community.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting local events and information stands to raise awareness of dementia and our support services
  • Establishing connections with local organisations and community groups to promote our work
  • Providing low-level emotional support to individuals affected by dementia
  • Networking with local groups and services to identify opportunities for carers, people newly diagnosed, and those with memory problems to engage and participate in their community

What We Offer

As a volunteer with Alzheimer's Society, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in your community while developing new skills and gaining valuable experience. You will also receive training and support to ensure you feel confident and equipped to carry out your role.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about raising awareness of dementia and promoting our support services. You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
