Job Description:

As a Financial Underwriting Specialist with Ultimate Banking, you will be responsible for underwriting and reviewing mortgage applications to ensure they meet the company's risk appetite and lending policies. Your role will involve managing a pipeline of applications from submission to completion, exercising discretion on cases outside of standard lending policy, and obtaining and retaining a lending mandate.

We are passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and are seeking an experienced underwriter to join our dedicated team. Our office is based in Fitzrovia, making it easily accessible via public transport, and we offer a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to split your time between our head office and remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a busy pipeline of mortgage applications from submission to completion.
  • Make sound discretionary lending decisions within agreed risk appetite and lending policy.
  • Exercise discretion on cases outside of standard lending policy.
  • Obtain and retain a lending mandate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous manual underwriting experience and equity release experience would be highly desirable.
  • A customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Attention to detail and a positive attitude towards continuous learning.
