Mechanical Project Management Opportunity

East London, UK

CV Library is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join their team on a secured data centre project in East London. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a reputable client and demonstrate your expertise in managing mechanical projects.

To succeed in this position, you will need to have a proven track record in project management, particularly within the commercial sector or similar related projects with values between £5-£10 million. Ideally, you will have experience of demonstrating responsibility for full contract management at this level.

The successful candidate will oversee both site installation teams and site management teams, liaising effectively with in-house design and commercial teams, procuring materials, and managing day-to-day client interactions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively and professionally oversee and control the day-to-day management of projects, including sub-contract packages, to make a profit by delivering within budget and programme to exceed client satisfaction.
  • Manage the overview of the mechanical design of the system, working closely with consultants as a supporting/development role to ensure a robust, buildable design within budget costs.
  • Lead and issue meeting notes for technical and progress workshop meetings.
  • Deliver design/working drawings necessary to deliver the project and ensure capturing additional costs and programme delays caused by external influences on their production.
  • Develop a commissioning strategy for the installation.
  • Work with a level of autonomy from the Project Manager.
  • Assist the Project Manager with duties and act as a second-in-command on the project.
  • Programme works and sub-contract packages.
  • Manage installation and commissioning activities of assigned packages.
  • Manage handover documentation (record drawings/test and commission).
  • Control risks (programme and commercial).
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND Building Services qualification or above - Desirable.
  • CSCS/SMSTS.
  • Mechanical qualification.
  • Experience of working at a senior level on M&E projects, as well as ideally having had responsibility for full contract management.
  • Knowledge of current construction practices and safety on site.
  • Understand mechanical design principles.
