About the Role:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist in our Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in Ashford, Kent, you will play a key role in providing senior medical support and guidance to the team, working directly with young people and their families, and liaising with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing mental health disorders in children, including neurodevelopment disorders, and possess a deep understanding of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders and evidence-based management interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide care to children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  • Work directly with young people and their families, and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • CCT or equivalent qualification and Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it, and inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
