Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Road Maintenance Technician to join our team at East Lothian Council. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance, construction, and repair of roads, footpaths, and drainage systems are carried out to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance, construction, and repair of roads, footpaths, and drainage systems to meet the Council's obligations as the local Roads Authority.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance plans to ensure the Council's infrastructure is well-maintained.
  • Operate and maintain a range of equipment and vehicles to support road maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a related field, such as civil engineering or construction.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
