Highway Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic highway engineer to join our Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery Team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence the future of transportation at a forward-thinking local authority.
This diverse role involves working closely with other engineers, transport, spatial, and environmental planners to plan, design, and deliver major highway infrastructure and active travel improvements across the county.
The successful candidate will join an established and highly regarded engineering team within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the planning and delivery of major transport schemes across Lancashire.
Supported by the Principal Engineer and Engineering Team Leader, you can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time, developing designs and supporting the delivery of highway scheme proposals.
The role is based in County Hall, Preston with opportunities for home working. We embrace flexible working and understand that it can support the diverse needs of our team, empowering them to achieve a better work/life balance around their personal obligations.
We are looking for individuals with a passion for highway design. You will have a relevant qualification or substantial vocational experience in highway design or similar.
You will have experience of undertaking design work for highways schemes and be proficient in the use of AutoCAD. You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.
